If you have the original version then a patch is needed.

Check that out and then give the game a go

OP
I downloaded this patch and I installed it, but it is still failing.
hmmm well ive got it at home and it works fine on xp, how far does it actually get before failing?
What's the error?
OP
Fallout 2 is installed but when I want to play, it indicates me that Fallout 2 won't run without the CD. However, the CD is in!!
Is it the original CD? As far as I know all Fallout 2 has is the CD check. No other copy protection. So if your CD is an unoriginal copy it could be corrupted. Try a NO CD crack on it.
OP
My CD is an original one! Where can I find a NO CD crack?
www.gamecopyworld.com
If you cannot find one then look on www.google.com for Daemon Tools. It's a CD emulator.

Have fun! Fallout is one of the best RPG's evar.
European versions of Fallout 2 are missing children in the game, but they have something that other version don´t have: LaserLock copy protection
I can't install the game on XP. If I click 'Install' on the autorun menu, the res switches and I get a black screen. After a few seconds it switches back to the desktop with the normal resolution.
Same if I click the setup.exe on the CD also. Tried running the setup.exe in Compatibility Mode but nothing works. Using SP2 if it makes any significance.
