FF7 Install Problemo
This is a discussion about FF7 Install Problemo in the Windows Games category; Yeah. . . Whenever I run the sutoplay and press the install button, the window closes and the program does nothing, as if I never clicked. I already tried compying and pasting the install. exe file onto the desktop and doing all that compatability stuff, but that didn't work.

Look at this http://www.ntcompatible.com/Installing_FF7_for_Win95_on_XP_t33509.html
Notice that he refers to running the setup.exe under the Win95 compatibility.
Once you have it installed, know that there are a couple of patches like the chacobo patch and 1.4 that you may need to run it with added stability.

That didn't work...
Maybe you could explain what you did - go through the steps.
I copied and pasted the setup.exe from the disc to my desktop, clicked on prefernces, changed the compatability to Windows '95, clicked on the setup.exe, clicked install, and the autoplay closed.
I also tried the same with the install.exe, but that didn't work...
I'm sad...

Have you tried to use Windows Explorer and find setup.exe on your CD drive, right click on the file, choose Properties, then click on the Compatibility tab, put a check mark in the box and choose Windows 95, then OK?
