Which codec did you download? I'm having a similar problem because in my Windows XP Pro I can't even see the chocobos running in the first screen, nor sound is heard. Then I click the mouse button and it appears the screen in which I choose new game or save game. I choose new and nothing else happens, just black screen... It doesn't lock, though, I can quit via Ctrl-q. If anyone else can help us, pleeezzzz
Regards!

I'm having the exact same problem, sanduba. I'm running XP Pro as well, with a Radeon 9800 Pro 128MB video card. I played it years back on my Win98 system with a 32MB GeForce 2 MX440, but with my more powerful system it chokes.

As ridiculous as it may sound, are our computers too good to run the game? Any help that can be given would be much appreciated.
