For those of you who have ff7 working in xp
This is a discussion about For those of you who have ff7 working in xp in the Windows Games category; How did you do it? I just did a fresh format (ntfs) and a clean install of xp. Soon as it was up, I installed ff7 and tried it, didn't work. Set compatibility to win98, didn't work. So then I installed newest dx8.

So then I installed newest dx8.1, and newest nvidia detonators, rebooted, tried it again, didn't work. This is in software mode btw. I have a nvidia g2mx, althon xp 1600.

oh yeah
what happens when I try to play, I just get a black screen for 2 seconds, then it puts me back at my desktop with no msgs or anythin.

It must be a missing movie file (the intro one)
try with the patches...
did u install the program for the movies??? maybe thats the problem
