format HDD with dual operating system
Hi. ,, I got dual operating system on my computer, (1) Fedora Core 5 and (2)Windows XP. . . . i need to remove windows xp and reinstall it. . . but whenever i try with windows xp bootable cd it goes black.

I don't think this is easy possible. It sound like your Linux installation is using the LVM (Logical Volume Manager), which usual cause the Windows XP installer to hang. Other Microsoft operating systems (for example, Windows 2000 Professional) seem to ignore the LVM without hanging.
I guess the easiest solution is getting an USB stick or external hard disk and backup your home directory. Then remove the Fedora install and reinstalling Windows XP and Fedora Core. Manually partition Fedora Core this time with a standard ext3 and swap partition.
