Game performance in XP
This is a discussion about Game performance in XP in the Windows Hardware category; Hi I just tried the latest version of XP with my NVIDIA GeForce2 PRO card, and I must say I didnt like what I saw. I fiexed the refreshrate thing, but performance was really crappy. In Q3A I usually pull over 100fps on the timedemo test in 1024 max, but in XP I barely got over 60.

Does anyone have good performance in XP?

yes my performance in xp since 2428 has been better than the same hardware under win me or win2k.
I use the latest official release dets (ver 6.5 i think) and i also make an additional user to play games with that has all the pretty graphics and other performace hoggin fetures turned off. Also it is a good idea to have plenty of ram if you are using xp i have 512 megs.
