Games that work on a laptop
This is a discussion about Games that work on a laptop in the Windows Games category; Hello it has been a long while since I last posted to this forum. I was wondering if anyone has a list nof which games offer software rendering and/or graphics. You see I am buying a laptop to take with me to a lot of places, and as well as doing work on the thing, I want to take a time out every once in a while.

You see I am buying a laptop to take with me to a lot of places, and as well as doing work on the thing, I want to take a time out every once in a while. I know laptops are not the best things in the world to play games, but I want to at least try.
The ones I know have software graphics on are:
Half-life (all versions and varients including Gunman Chroncles)
Diablo
Diablo II
Starcraft
Warcraft 2
Descent I and II
Who wants to be a millionaire?
Dos Games
Monkey Island Games (I don't know about the last due to the fact that I think Direct3D can be done via software as well thus opening up other great titles; can someone confirm this?)
Does anyone else know of any games that have software graphics on?
Cheers

Why don't you get a laptop with the mobile geforce chip? Then you can play ALL the games....
Laptops have had D3D for a looonngg time. But very crappy D3D because they were mostly ATI/S3 graphics cards. If you want to do gaming in Windows 2000 on a laptop I'd recommend you listen to CUViper and get a Dell with a Geforce2 Go.
OP
HOW MUCH ARE THEY?
You'll want the Inspiron 8000 - in the UK it's priced about £1300+, depending on the features you choose. Here's the product page: Dell - Inspiron 8000
