Geforce 5200 Ultra, Transparency Issues
Okay. I have had this problem for quite some time, and have yet to find a solution. The GeForce FX 5200 can handle most of my needs just fine, with decent fps. However, when I encounter certain effects (usually smoke) the FPS drops drastically.

EX: Counterstrike 1.6, i can run @ 30-40 fps just fine (and I think CS caps my framerate at around that range which is fine by me) but when a smoke grenade hits and im forced to run through it... I can count the frames on my 1 hand quite literally 5 or less FPS. I tried turning fastsprites on to reduce the quality of the smoke and everything, and the settings are set to the minimal and i run in 800x600.
Other games perform just the same, FPS is perfectly fine for my tastes, but when i encounter smoke / transparency of that type I essentially shut down until that effect wears off.
Can someone help me out? did i destroy something that im totally unaware of? or maybe the GeForce FX 5200 ultra simply is a piece of trash?
