getting rid of "Links" in favorites menu

what is microsoft's problem? why cant i delete this damn folder without it coming back? is there a way to get rid of it for good? thanks. .

I just click favorites, then right click on Links and hit delete. Gets rid of it for me.

Right-click the folder, go to properties. Tick "Hidden". Restart IE and it'll be gone.
 
Yes it even works if you've set Windows to show hidden files and folders.

In tweakUI there is an optio to turn the links folder from appearing.

Forgive me if I've misunderstood, but you should be able to remove the links folder from under the "all user" profile as an admin, and it will be gone for everyone, since it acts as a template.
