Giving Administrator account ability to change permissions
This is a discussion about Giving Administrator account ability to change permissions in the Windows Security category; I need to give the administrator account (or perhaps another one instead) access to change permissions on the entire machine. I need to be able to access users local folders under the Documents And Settings directory for virus/spyware scans and other reasons.

I assume that there is a way to do this using gpedit.msc but I can't determine how to do it. Can anyone help me?

The administrator account already has full permissions, you can go into any folders, including all users under Documents And Settings.

Hey guys, if that had been the case, than I wouldn't have posted. On the system that I am looking at, I can take ownership of a file as the administrator but I cannot view the contents of the directory or change their permissions. Any idea on what I could do?
