It gives me the error that says gta2. exe has generated errors and windows will shut it down. . . . . . . . . . an error log is being created at first i thought that it was because i have windows 2000, but i also heard there are some conflicts with the voodooo3 card ...

at first i thought that it was because i have windows 2000, but i also heard there are some conflicts with the voodooo3 card which i also have. i heard there is a patch for voodoo3, and if anyone could show me where to get that could be great.

I'm sorry I can't point you in the direction for updated VooDoo drivers.
It's been so long since I've owned a 3DFX card I really haven't bothered watching their development.
However, I can confirm that the issues you are having are not Windows 2000 related.
GTA2 works under Win2k without any problems what so ever.
You don't need to run the compatability application, just run it.
I recommend you grab the GTA2 patch from www.gta.com
It fixes some massive slow downs that can be found within GTA2, especially on the Ice Cream van level.
I hope somebody points you in the right direction for the drivers you need - then you can play this great game once more!
