Group Policy Snap-in failed to initialze

Hi
I've been running my latest install of XP pro for quite sometime now with little trouble (Apart from the Infinite Loop thing and some other small things).
But today I thought I would have a play with the Group Policy settings and so I tried to open gpedit.msc, but when I did I got this error;
Snap-in failed to initialize
Name: Group Policy
CLSID:{8FC0B734-A0E1-11D1-A7D3-0000F87571E3}
And then when I click on ok it opens the console but shows nothing, and says;
Snap-in Creation Failed.
The snap-in is not created, it may not be installed properly.
Name: Group Policy
CLSID:{8FC0B734-A0E1-11D1-A7D3-0000F87571E3}
Any ideas what’s happened?
Any ideas on how to fix it (preferable with out a complete reinstall)
Thanks
