guest account on 2k and shares, help
I am having trouble accessing shares from a 2K and XP machine. The computer with the shares is running Win2k SP3, guest account is enabled. I shared all my drives with GUEST access, checked the boxes named full control, change and read under the Allow column.
I am having trouble accessing shares from a 2K and XP machine. The computer with the shares is running Win2k SP3, guest account is enabled. I shared all my drives with GUEST access, checked the boxes named full control, change and read under the Allow column. Now, when I try to access the shares, it says the following:
"\\computername\drive is not accessible. You might not have permission to use this network resource. Contact the administrator of this server to find out if you have access permissions.
Access denied."
I don't get why it's not working, it used to work back then.. it's so frustrating, the only way I can make the shares accessible is to set permissions to "Everyone". Much appreciated for any help.

Check NTFS and Share permissions. IIRC Guest is not part of the Everyone Group by default; correct me if I am wrong.
