Half Life video issues under win2k

Hi everyone. I have a 3dfx Vodoo Banshee 16 MB video card. Half Life / half Life CS will ONLY work with Software drivers at 640x480. For some odd reason, it will not allow me to use OpenGL (using any resolution) or D3D.

Hi everyone.
I have a 3dfx Vodoo Banshee 16 MB video card. Half Life / half Life CS
will ONLY work with Software drivers at 640x480. For some odd reason, it will not allow me to use OpenGL (using any resolution) or D3D. If I use D3D i cannot return to the main menu when I press ESC as it gives me a blank screen.
Note: I know the video card is capable of working just fine at 16bit depth and 1024x768 under many 3D games, as I have tried it on many other games and it works just fine.
Any clues?
thanx

OP
Oh never mind. I just downloaded the updated vodoo banshee driver from ntcompatible.com. Works great with OpenGL at 1024x768. thanx for reading though. :): I hope this post may help someone else!

Oh, yeah. The black screen pops up with D3D in HL. If you know the keyboard's letters, you can just use it to exit out of the game. It's a pain in the neck, so I don't use d3d.
