Handshaking Sound Problem
This is a discussion about Handshaking Sound Problem in the Windows Hardware category; Hi I've reseloved the problem with the internal modem, i've installed it but now the problem is that tha handshaking sound it's always active also when i'm already connected to the internet. I think that this problem depend on the fact that the drivers are not the right one even if the modem work perfectly.

If you mean what I think you mean, then go into the modem's properties & turn its volume down.
or if it has a Lucent chip on it add "M0" (it's a zero) to the Extra Initialization Commands.....M0 mutes the modem.
If not , you might want to check under msinfo 32
Run "msinfo32"....System summary\components\modem\....that should give you all the Init strings for your modem...
