hangs on restart
This is a discussion about hangs on restart in the Everything New Technology category; I have had this problem for a while but never addressed it. My system is XP Pro SP1. 1800 AMD A7V266-E KT266A Chipset ASUS V7100 graphics card If I select the restart option my computer will hang.

If I select the restart option my computer will hang.
This is the error written to the system event viewer:
The device, \Device\Ide\IdePort1, did not respond within the timeout period.
Any suggestions would be welcome.
Or if someone has a workaround to enable the complete installation of Quickbooks, the program requires restart inorder to finish installing. No other options are given.
