Dual boot with MS-DOS or PC-DOS... I think that's the only way, unless a win32 .exe exists for the game, ie, Doom95.
What game are you trying to run?
Have you tried Virtual PC or VMware Workstation? Both have evaluation licenses available for free, varied between 30-45 days... If you haven't tried running the games under that, I would do that first.
Depending upon your success, you may really want to consider dual booting with a version of DOS. I saw on ebay copies (with a license, of course) of MS-DOS 6.xx for under US $10. That may be the best solution.
Perhaps some others here (DosFreak) would have other suggestions.
Have you searched in the compatibility database? Are those games listed?

Here are the URLs for the trial software that I mentioned above:
VMware Workstation 3.2
Connectix Virtual PC 5.1
Give those a go, and let us know how you make out.

If you have SP2/SP3 installed, you can enable compatibility mode, similar to that which is included in Windows XP by following these directions:

no vesa problem: to fix this make sure it runs in full screen
if you do a custom fix with the VDMSound advanced options its in there
and that option is in win2k too if you right click and go to properties
speed problem: dont use VDMSound, use soundFX
also you may want to try
http://www.scitechsoft.com/products/enterprise/free_titles.html
univbe was used in a lot of dos stuff (its in display doctor too)
maybe the newer version will work for dos stuff in 2k
PLUS THE OLD STUFF IS NOW FREE!!!!!
even if you dont need it, download it anyway
you cant pass up free software!
there is no more support for it though
also if anyone knows why both sound programs crash ROTT, and duke nukem 3d, and shadow warrior tell me

When I try to edit the properties, I got this error:
=============================================
Debug Error!
Programs: C:\WINNT\Explorer.exe
Damage: After normal block (#6887) at 0x02425610
(Press Retry to debug the application)
=============================================
Then I clicked on Retry and Ignore to debug the application, but EXPLORER.EXE generated errors again and restarted itself one more time.
