Help - I can't even boot into Safe mode now after installing Adaptec USB2 driver

PROBLEM SOLVED - I had been fidling with the Adaptec USB2 PCI card (AUA-2000) and my daughters iPod. When I installed card originally it used Microsft drivers. I thought I would upgrade to the Adaptec drivers. Big mistake. As soon as I said okay to that last question in the install, the PC rebooted. It now gets to a certain spot in the Windows bootup and reboots again. Tried to boot into Safe mode but keep getting the same result. This Win2000 Pro Compaq machine was a company surplus that I got "as is" for $100 (so no Win2000 Pro CD). What can I do? I'm thinking up just upgrading to XP Pro but want to save my data first so I can do a clean install. Help

OP
Problem solved. I figured out how to boot from the four Win 2000 diskettes I made and run Recovery Console. I disabled the two adaptec services that were running and rebooted. Booted up like normal. Now I can back up my data and do a clean install of XP.
