Help with Final Fantasy 8
This is a discussion about Help with Final Fantasy 8 in the Windows Games category; Alright so I decided to install FF8 on my new PC. It worked, everything is playing perfectly, the Cinematics are great, my problem is that when I actually Get into the game, well it screws up, I mean, I can still play, but the graphics are horrible, see for yourself.

Those black boxes and stuff are not supposed to be there, atleast I hope not. So then what might be causing this Graphic, or video problem and How can I fix it? help please.

hi, i have the solution, in fact i had the same problem but today i found a patch that fixes your texel problems. this is the page.

Download the correct patch. (there are 2, for Nvidia users and for not nvidia users)

Change game graphics settings using it's setup program.
Goto your FF8 installation folder, execute FF8Config.exe.
Select Graphics tab. Set Renderer to Software Renderer.
OK.
