Help with installing living large expansion pack on Windows
Okay. I have been to several message boards and this one looks promising. Please help me out here. I am running Win2000Pro on an AMD 450, 128MB RAM. I am having trouble getting the expansion pack for The Sims to install and work properly.
Okay. I have been to several message boards and this one looks promising. Please help me out here.
I am running Win2000Pro on an AMD 450, 128MB RAM. I am having trouble getting the expansion pack for The Sims to install and work properly. I uninstalled The SIms, deleted the registry entries for Maxis and The Sims and then did a fresh install. After I install the expansion pack, a few things in the game change but not much. I do notice that I have new character skins, a new boot screen complete with the livin large logo, and few minor new objects. The new objects are the same ones I downloaded from thesims.com in the past,ie,the coocoo clock, moosehead, baloons, wall lights, and slot machine. Before I reinstalled the game, I made sure to get rid of all traces of those downloaded objects. I have been thru this around 10 times now even running the LLFix patch from thesims.com. All the patch did was prevent the game from even starting up at all. Any help would be greatly appreciated. I am about to just remove win2000 and go back to win98 but I hate doing that. I suppose I could dual boot the OS's but I am getting near low end on hard drive space as it is and I don't need two OS's.

What kind of trouble are you having exactly? I have installed the Sims and the Livin' Large expansion on my compuer with no trouble at all. On my wifes computer it is a different story. I have found that I have to install the Sims in its default directory and then install Livin' Large in its default directory for it to work on hers. It would come up with an error to insert the Livin' Large CD even though it was already installed and had started up the program with autorun.
