help with Wing commander 4

This is a discussion about help with Wing commander 4 in the Windows Games category; anyone able to walk me through the procedures to get WC4 Dos working on Win XP (home)? i downloaded VDMSound, but the installation seems to hang and lock up when it gets to identifying the soundcard and controller identification.

i am a novice with computers, so need some patient soul to help me out.

Ok as a last resort...

HUGE problem..istalling gta3 VC other games too.
