Heroes of Might and Magic II WIndows XP Music doesn't work
This is a discussion about Heroes of Might and Magic II WIndows XP Music doesn't work in the Windows Games category; Can anyone help with this problem? The Midi music works fine but when I change the setting to the regular music, the game is sluggish and the music doesn't play. I realize that the game was designed for Windows 95 but I'm hoping there's a way to fix this problem anyway.

What sound chipset are you using? (See Dxdiag or Device Manager)
Do you have 'Legacy Audio Drivers' installed?
If it uses SoundBlaster emulation, you can enable it in the Autoexec.nt file by adding the SET BLASTER lines as described in the file.

OP
Hi,
Thanks for your reply.
I am using Avance AC97 Audio with Legacy Audio Drivers installed.
The default device for MIDI playback however is Microsoft GS Wavetable SW Synth.
There is no soundblaster emulation that I am aware of.
I am not sure where to check what chipset I have (I apologize, I'm not too savvy with computers)
Thanks again.
