Higher FPS in UT
This is a discussion about Higher FPS in UT in the Windows Games category; I've changed my monitor to run at 120 Hz in 640x480 (highest safe Hz according to the manual), yet when I run UT at the same resolution, the monitor goes back to 70 hz (as the UT screen image fills the whole screen (I hadn't resized 120 Hz to do so), and as the FPS peak at 70).

I tried advanced options, but I think game running speed was under 3DFX Glide (which I don't have).
So, Does anyone know how to get UT to use 640X480 @ 120 Hz??? I'm guessing somewhere you can configure the game to run at 120 Hz. How is this done?

If you are using Direct3D, open up directx diagnostics, hit run and type dxdiag. Under advanced click Override Refresh Rate, type 120 then try it. This will override for all resolutions so if you try to got 1024 and your monitor can't do 120 at 1024, well you get the idea.

Thanks for the input.
I doubt I'll try it, because of the risk... but, hey, is the only risk to the monitor and not to the video card or the rest of the computer?
