Download "Xteq 5.7" and unclick "Windows File Protection". Restart. Delete file. Open X-teq again, and reinstate Windows File Protection. Restart. Your done.

Can you do it from the "rocovery console"?

Boot to a dos disk, that's funny.

Also Fix-it Utilities has a console for doing this type of stuff.

Dos, I'm still laughing.

Yeah, the DOS reference was interesting. I do use a DOS 6.22 boot floppy for NT installs that have FAT system partitions. Just wanted to state that it *could* be done...

I dont know if this works in Whistler, but in Windows 2000, when you boot to Safe mode, file protection is turned off, and I am able to delete files from the DllCache folder.

Any file in dllcache is protected. So delete the equivalent file in dllcache or driver cache
