How do I adjust the computers brightness?

I've don eit before but i forgot where the location was. . . it controls the gamma and whatnot. . . hopefully someone knows what i am talking about.

Right click Desktop (a blank area), select Properties, then select Settings, Advanced and extra settings are there.
Some cards, like ATI/Nvidea extend the Display control panel with their own features, so you need it installed.

I believe Tay told us he had a Trident card which may not attach itself as does ATI/Nvidia.
