how do i adjust the computers brightness?

This is a discussion about how do i adjust the computers brightness? in the Windows Hardware category; how do i adjust the computers brightness other than the wheels on the monitor? it controls the gamma and whatnot, i've been there before i just forog twhere the location is. Thanks. .

Depends on your video card. If you have an Nvidia card, there are several ways to get to what you are looking for. Right click on your desktop, click on properties, choose the Settings tab, then click on the Advanced button. On the tabs choose the Nvidia tab and Choose color correction.

Actually, it had a picture of a bowl of fruits, and controlled the Red blue and green contrasts... and if it helps, i have this really really crappy video card called... a Trident video accelerator blade 3d/ promedia

Sorry, usually these cards come with software utilities. Look under your program files folder and find Trident is the best advice I can give.
