How do I enable AGP2X on GeForce 2 card?
This is a discussion about How do I enable AGP2X on GeForce 2 card? in the Windows Hardware category; Basically what the topic says. I have a GeForce 2 MX AGP which is capable of 2X AGP, and so is my motherboard, however, it says 1X in the display properities. How do I make it 2X? Thanks.

Check the agp setting in the bios.
What motherboard are you using?
Usual question, VIA based make sure you got the latest 4-in-1's.
Intel based, make sure you're running the latest .inf
Also make sure the card is correctly seated, if it doesn't sit totally flush it will default to 1x (I know this from experience on an old Matrox G400 Max).

AS has been said its most likley either a BIOS problem, Hardware or Graphcs card not inserted corectly, give us ur mobo type and we can ehlp more!
I have this exact same problem on my 1.2 Duron System, never figured out how to fix it yet :x
OP
AMD chipset
Gigabyte 71-XE Motherboard...there is no setting in there to set it to 2X AGP. and the card is seated just fine, and the bios is updated to the latest.
Also have latest graphics drivers installed, as well as latest Miniport drivers, also latest EVERYTHING for the OS itself.
Any help?

That's an old mb! Latest BIOS flash is 10-10-01. Latest minport depends on the OS either 5-2001 or 5-2002, latest driver pack is 1.30 (5-2001). Latest AGP Driver is 5-2002 for Win 2000 and XP.
What Nvidia drivers are you using? Anyone remember the registry patch to enable 2X AGP?

actually, latest bios is 12/10/01 and it's a beta, latest miniport is 533, latest driver pack (there is no driver pack, installing miniport + ide bus mastering is all you need)
I've used latest drivers from Nvidia, both the released and beta they have on the website, it has NOTHING to do with the drivers.
I simply need an answer, not critism about my hardware.

Seems weird that you have the mobo down from my 1.2 system. Winder if theres maybe a complete bug with this board. Just a thought
OP
Your mobo is an 71XE4, not 71XE
if you can find a copy of nvmax around i used to use the amd2x settings it had when i used those boards.
BTW jdulmage, only real difference between the 71xe4 and the 71xe is that one is a slot and the other a socket...
otherwise practically identical.

I should have a copy of NVmax, and I can upload it to my site later on when I get home, if you want....
