how do i tell if i'm behind a firewall
This is a discussion about how do i tell if i'm behind a firewall in the Windows Networking category; how do i tell if i'm behind a firewall. i can't direct connect through AIM or use Kazaa or any other direct connect software. when i did the winconfig in the dos prompt, my friend told me that the ips of the computers are internal ips that aren't allowed on the internet.

is this @ work or home?
if @ work u are likely behind it and those ports are blocked since they are not work related items

I'd venture to say if you're at work and NOT behind a firewall, there will be a job opening for a new network administrator at your company really soon!

Even simple NAT devices like common SOHO firewalls will cause problems when doing direct connections to Fast Track and Gnutella networks.
