If so, can you tell me if:- 1) MSE can be temporarily turned off? 2) MSE can be run manually for getting the virus definition updates, ie. stop MSE from getting the updates automatically? 3) MSE can be run manually for system scans, ie.

Anyone here a user of Microsoft Security Essentials? If so, can you tell me if:-
 
1) MSE can be temporarily turned off?
 
2) MSE can be run manually for getting the virus definition updates, ie. stop MSE from getting the updates automatically?
 
3) MSE can be run manually for system scans, ie. the automatic scan process be turned off?
 
I've looked at the various videos about MSE on Microsoft's website but nothing is explained in this sort of detail.
