How to fool an application to think that the OS is W2KPro ?

How to fool an application to think that the OS is W2KPro rather than W2KServer? I am trying to install a HP software that came with a DVD burner that would not install on a W2K Server. Thank you. .

Can boot to Linux but not W2k on dual OS system
