how to share internet with ICS on cable connection
This is a discussion about how to share internet with ICS on cable connection in the Windows Networking category; I'm nto asking this for myself, but a friend has a problem to share his cable connection using the built-in win2k ICS. I told him to enable ICS on the 1st network device. But that didn't share the connection + he couldn't surf at all anymore, even after disabling ICS again.

Can anyone help? He's using win2k as a server, and win98 as client.
Thanks.

Some Cable providers require a specific MAC address on the nic. If you connnected to the wrong card, you will be blocked by the cable company. Try enabling everything using the other nic on the WAN side, and for your LAN use the nic you have the cable plugged into.
