This is a discussion about How to turn off a starup item? in the Customization Tweaking category; Using 9x for so long, I'm not sure how to remove this program. Have a look in the Registry under...

HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE\SOFTWARE\Microsoft\Windows\CurrentVersion\Run

Everything that loads at startup is listed there. Just delete the entry that relates to the offending application.

yeah check either HKLM or HKCU (Hkey current user) and under the software/MS/windows/run and runonce are the keys you are looking for.

If you don't want to get your hands dirty, check out Reg Cleaner.

Very handy at backing up and removing startup items.

Check out www.utilitygeek.com. I believe that they have it there.

If not, search around.
