HP 7200e really works??

This is a discussion about HP 7200e really works?? in the Windows Hardware category; Hiyas, I saw on the main page that the HP 7200e CD-Writer drive works with Win2k using the latest shuttletech drivers. That made me pretty happy as I thought I could get rid of Win98 (which I use for burning CDs only).

Hiyas,

I saw on the main page that the HP 7200e CD-Writer drive works with Win2k using the latest shuttletech drivers. That made me pretty happy as I thought I could get rid of Win98 (which I use for burning CDs only).

Then I checked the HP website and they say the 7200e will not work for Win2k Server Editions. Which pisses me off.

So I'm just curious if anyone knows if the 7200e CD-Writer will work under Win2k Server (which I'm using) and if so, do I need anything besides the updated shuttletech drivers and the drivers out of the box?

P.S. I know I need a new CD-RW. No need to suggest that
