I have a hp 8200i and it works great in win2k professional. I don't see why it wouldn't work in adv server then.
Go check: http://kickme.to/spookysrealm

there is a section tips&tweaks and it has some tips how to configure windows to use cd-writers. Give it a try, it might help. Cuz i think your 8200 is supported by win2k adv server.

I think it actually has more to do with the software used. I know that the Adaptec Easy CD Creator and DirectCD software didn't support Server versions of W2K until version 5. With all the whining I've heard so far about version 5, I'm sticking with 4.03b / 3.03b (respectively) on my W2K Pro machines, and leaving it off of the servers.

Don't know about Nero, but I'm thinking about it.

Jim

What problems are everyone having with EasyCD 5?
I got the nice and cheap upgrade (Because I bought version 4)
All installed and working a charm.
