What exactly do you mean by when you put the cd in the drive?
are you putting the windows 2000 cd while your in Linux?
if so, that is not the way you need to install win2k.
you will want to make sure you have a partition that you can put the OS into without messing with your linux installation. and you would boot your computer with the win2k cd in the drive (making sure that your cd-rom drive is the first boot device in your bios)
then follow the prompts to install.
you will probably also need to make sure your GRUB is set to see both OS when booting to give you the option which OS you want to boot into.
It's been a while since I have needed to install win2k AFTER installing Linux so you might want to wait till a more knowledgeable
Linux guru comes along!! lol

PS it also helps on this board if you apologize for not asking about a SIMS 2 related issue (lol just kidding, it's an inside joke here)
