SiSoft Sandra will tell you what ATA mode it is using. If you want to test the speed, try HDTach.

Is there a similar hack for enabling UDMA Mode 4. My controller is UDMA mode 4 but my HDD is only running in UDMA mode 3

Drive is capable of UDMA mode 6. I can't see it hurting the drive. Anyways it's meant to be a UDMA mode 4 controller and it's in mode 3.

20MB/sec burst rate so I kinda wanna try and increase the UDMA mode to see if it improves the speed of the controller.
