Icq99b, Did they disable it or something???
This is a discussion about Icq99b, Did they disable it or something??? in the Windows Software category; I have been using 99b for well over a year at least and now I formated my HD (like I have many times before) and installed win2k fresh. Then reinstalled icq99b and everytime I put my current number in to reregister me it takes forever and then tells me to call customer support.

However 2000a and 2000b register my current number right away. i have tried everything. HELP!!!

That would suck if they made you use the banner cluttered versions. I haven't used ICQ since '98 so I can't really help but if you can never get ICQ99 to work there are hacks to take out the banners I think.

I checked the ICQ webboard and its a major problem. seems everyone using an older version than 2000a cannot register. something about ICQ upgrading their servers
