IE keeps crashing

i am using IE5. 5 with win2k SP1 and whenever i try to reply to a message on my hotmail account the browser just crashes and windows say iexplorer. exe has caused errors. . . so to reply to the message i must switch to Netscape 6 which takes a lot longer to open than IE.

Yes, I get this error all the time, too. Often here on NT Compatible when just READING the forum messages. As a matter of fact, I am using Opera right now because IE crashed yet again. ANY help on this matter will be greatly appreciated.

i had all kinds of problems with that version of ie.
i went back to the previous version

I used to get those errors in hotmail and just reading message forums and I couldn't figure out what the hell was causing them all the time. I finally figured out the problem about two months ago, it was an automatic configuration script provided by my worthless @home cable modem service. I took out the configuration script and IE hasn't crashed once since then. I have 5.5 sp1
