Installation Failure..... Why ?
I've been having this problem and hope someone can give me a proper diagnostic of the issue. The problem is whenever I try installing a new game, the installation fails somehere in between, it never completes, error message pops up saying, a particular file cannot be transferred and ends prematurely.

It happens to most of the games I buy, only a very few works. Is this caused by the OS ? The same CD can be used and installed on other machines, I've checked the CD-ROM as well, no problems there.
What would be the best solution to my problem and how can I avoid it in future?
Thanks.

How did you check the CD-ROM? Did you try another one?
I've had that problem before with a couple of games, once it was my CD-ROM, the other time it was cause of the CD being a little bit dirty or scratched and then my CD-ROM is just too full of Sh!t to read it but others could. Try cleaning the CD, if it dont work try another CD-ROM.
PS: To find out if its a dirty CD, try to copy the file manually that it complains about during intallation, just copy it to the desktop, you'll se the time changing to something like 100 minutes and higher and then it'll stop with an error.
Good luck, let us know

you may also have a bad RAM problem. you can try to use MEMTEST and test your memory.
