Installation tip.

This is a discussion about Installation tip. in the Customization Tweaking category; Anyway to install the full ver of xp without needing another version of windows installed? my scsi cdroms refuse to boot with the cd. . . I set the scsi to boot in bios but no go. . . cant run setup from my dos boot disks.

Woop! Glad to see the <bootcfg /add> bit under repair under setup worked fine to fix my old winxp drive ... now a note to bill gates. Please add a simple error msg when trying to format c: from a different boot drive when dual booting. "Error erasing all information from this drive will disable windows xp from BOOTING! Please do not format unless absolutely necessary."
 
Just telling me you cant format doesnt tell me squat amd most wont know that ntdlr will default to c: no matter where xp is installed.
 
A little bit more userfriendliness cant hurt...
 
Some of us still have win 98 boot diskettes ya know!
