installed new vid card now sound wont work
This is a discussion about installed new vid card now sound wont work in the Windows Hardware category; I installed a new video card a GeForce 2 MX 400, works fine, but when i installed it my sound disappeared, i thought maybe hardware conflict, so i put the soundcard in a different slot, but now it ownt install.

maybe it was time for the sb to die but maybe you need to try all the slots and maybe it is a driver issuse

sound card is fine, im dual booting win2k/winxp and it works fine in 2k. hardware i just installed a GeForce 2 MX400, Soundblaster Live Value, and a 56k modem, 1.2ghz Tbird. 256mb RAM, Abit KT7A.
well my guess is that you are using the baisc drivers that came with it. go to the sb's website and download the latest drivers
