Installing 95/98 games with compatibility update
I'm sure this forum has talked about using the Application Compatibility Update to trick the software into thinking that Win2k is either 95, 98 or NT. However, I installed the lastest compatibility update, but can't do what the Win2k FAQ talked about.
I'm sure this forum has talked about using the Application Compatibility Update to trick the software into thinking that Win2k is either 95, 98 or NT. However, I installed the lastest compatibility update, but can't do what the Win2k FAQ talked about. I'm trying to install Need for Speed 3 and the installation program checks if the system is either 95 or 98. If it's neither, then installation quits. I was thinking about using the Compatibility Update to get through the installation. However, when I right click on the setup program and go to properties, I do not see any place to change the OS setting. Please help me out. Thanks!

I installed the compatibility update, but I didn't see any application files created. What file do I make a shortcut of?

you have to make a shortcut for the file you want to enable.
Right click > create shortcut
then...when thats created right click and goto properties...only in hte shortcut will there be a compatiblity tab at the top.
