installing new DDR/transfering all data
This is a discussion about installing new DDR/transfering all data in the Windows Hardware category; Im running wxp and want to replace my 40G IDE w/the 120G W. D. IDE I just bought. I know how to do the physical installation but Im not sure how to get it up and running and also transfer all my data.

Set up your new drive as a slave (see jumpers on back of HD), and then download 'Data Lifeguard Tools' from WD website which has a feature for Disk to Disk copying of OS, Programs and data from one HD to another.
You will need to mark the new HD as 'Active' to make it bootable
using Disk Management console.
