Depends on what OS you're using...

1. SMS

2. SUS

3. A login script that calls qchain.exe to install multiple hotfixes.

4. Walking around to each machine

Remember to test the patches first. Never know what they actually are until you test them.

Ahhh a man who doesnt believe in having "bleeding edge" technology .... our employer believes in having the "latest and the greatest" and suffer the repercussions later.

Pretty good double edged sword ....

Did those other URL/UNC names work (the ones other than www.msus.windowsupdate.com)?

* Or, did using IP address numbers (substituted in place of UNC/URL names for the address) work instead??

(I am just curious, I may run into this one day myself, & need to know the workaround...)

I'm pretty sure Microsoft must be blocking ICMP requests, since I can't even ping windowsupdate.microsoft.com but I can still get to it via HTTP. Or something's really screwed with their setup.
