Intelimouse Explorer and VIA chipset

Hi, I have a CUV4x-DLS mainboard running Dual PIII 933's. I am dual booting Windows 2000 and XP. My intellimouse works under 2000 but not under XP ( jerky across the screen ) Other people I know use this mouse with no problems under XP.

Hi,

Can someone please shed some light as to why this will not work ?

Did you tried another USB connector?

Are you using the PS/2 or USB?
If it's the USB, try the PS/2 port. I'm not sure if this has any bearing on it, but the Abit VP6 (dual Via Apollo Pro 133A) had problems with a USB keyboard. I'm not sure if this would affect mice, but I wouldn't rule it out. I don't think it's the problem, honestly.

Cheers CM and Brian. I have tried all four USB ports to no success.

Like I said, other people have this configuration and they have no problems. When I connect a PS2 mouse all works fine. The other funny thing that I noticed is that if I open a program ie/ WMPXP the mouse works normally. Go Figure ?????Cheers CM and Brian. I have tried all four USB ports to no success.
