Interactive window station

This is a discussion about Interactive window station in the Windows Hardware category; Anyone know what an interactive window station is? I've been trying to install drivers for my new Brother printer either through usb or parallel (on win2k) and this error keeps popping up and I can't finish my installation of the drivers.

I've downloaded the newest drivers, but still have this problem.

HI,
I have the same problem with the USB installation of an HP PSC 1417 on a W2000 system, i.e. "This operation requires an interactive window station". Did you manage to solve this problem?

What device you are trying to install?
What is your operating system?

You could try checking the "Allow service to interact with desktop" checkbox for Plug and Play service,
Start->Run: services.msc, browse for Plug and Play service, doubleclick it and select Logon tab.

Just make sure that you uncheck this box if this does not help...
