"Internal error occured: The request is not supported"
"Additional information: unable to query routing"

The cables/nic and connection to my cable modem are fine because Im in win2k with the same setup and it gets the ip and that is how im here to write this post. And it did work previously I feel due to recent events or software may have caused this... Anyone got an idea? I could do a number of things.. Reinstall xp try a different nic. I am just curious to see if its possible to fix.

Heres some info on what I did before this happened.

I installed a shareware app called tcpView so I could monitor tcp/ip activity. Its basically like a realtime netstat only it also shows the application that is using the port. After I installed that my firewall starting giving me this fatal error "To many ip addresses" or something like that. I needed to install sql server client tools and it gave me the error "A previous installation needed to reboot and did not please reboot" or something to that effect. I do not remember installing anything that needed to reboot. Maybe it was tcpView. So I rebooted and here we are. Btw I have removed both the firewall ( tiny personal firewall ) and tcpView. And I also get an error from norton antivirus 2k2 "Unable to start email scanning" which is probably due to the fact that there isnt an internet.

OP
I tried reinstalling tcp-ip and I just tried a new nic. Same error.

I tried using sfc ( system file checker ) and all the system files were original. I see a format in my future. I guess I got to be careful when installing shareware on xp.
