interneal Modem not detected by XP

This is a discussion about interneal Modem not detected by XP in the Everything New Technology category; I had Win 98 on my PC. I installed Win-XP and I now, I am dead. It is not detecting the Motorala internal Modem. I have tried a lot of things. I have tried different drivers, removing and unpluging the modem card and putting it back again, but nothing works.

I had Win 98 on my PC.

Have you tried these drivers?http://www.motorola.com/softmodem/driver.htm
I know my old motorola sm56 could be a pain to install,it would take 3-4 tries before it installed and worked.It has to be on com 3 so if anything is using com 3 uninstall it and then install the drivers.If I remember correctly the modem isn't auto detected at all just install the drivers then it should be installed.Thats all I can think of right now.

Have you tried manual install in control panel the "add new hardware" and select "i will choose the hardware to install" or something like that, close to that, what ever. select "modem" and then "have disk".
