I Play alot of lnline games.. I have Prarieinet isp.. ive had it for a while always ran good... I built a new tower a few weeks ago and immediatley I got problems... FInally got XP pro on there and everything was runnign smoothly.. The main game I play is Half-life(TFC mod) and it would crash at random every time i would play the game.. sometimes it would crash every 5 min.. to ever hour or so.. system logs said PCMCIA error wish was my TI card bus controller for my PC card for my internet... so i called the isp and got some newer hardware since the card/controller was quite old.. and I had got some local advice sayin that XP didnt like those card controllers... Now i installed my ATMEL USB FastVnet controller and half-life still crashes only this time its a different error...ipnathlp ID event 31012..The DNS proxy agent encountered an error while obtaining the local list of name-resolution servers. Some DNS or WINS servers may be inaccessible to clients on the local network. The data is the error code......
now ive tried lots of stuff and im somwaht novice at these things can someone plz help me stop the crashing

When will these ISP's learn that a USB xDSL modem/router is for the birds :x

I think you can resolve this issue if you can convince the ISP to give you an external Ethernet xDSL mode/router instead However this is the tricky part because to keep the costs down USB models are much cheaper to produce however due to the high-bandwidth that most broadband connections have they do seem to run into all kinds of issues like what you're experiencing...

Good luck in convincing the ISP of this.

You may also need to do some googling to find some BETA device drivers for XP, also if you have the make and model of your USB device, please post that as you mentioned Atmel, these seem to be the most problematic of the bunch I'm sad to say
