IRQ Problems
This is a discussion about IRQ Problems in the Windows Hardware category; This is kinda bugging me now. After 2 or 3 installs of Win2000 build 2195, i keep finding that the IRQ of virtually EVERY peripheral I own is the same!!!!! I. e: ATi Rage 128, USB Ports, SBLive Value, Adaptec 2940 UW SCSI, Netgear FA310TX fast ethernet, and DiamondSupraExpress 56iV PRO ALL use IRQ 9!!!! I mean ever ...

I.e:
ATi Rage 128,
USB Ports,
SBLive Value,
Adaptec 2940 UW SCSI,
Netgear FA310TX fast ethernet,
and DiamondSupraExpress 56iV PRO
ALL use IRQ 9!!!! I mean everysingle one of them does!!!
Does anyone else have this problem? I have an Athlon 550 @ 600 (using FreeSpeed Pro) and an ASUS K7M - BIOS v1008.
This is driving me nuts! Especially since now I've started to get Blue Screens moaning about "IRQL..." something or other. It seems to be mostly when I'm on the net but the lock up is totally random (from what I can tell).
So does anyone else get this? It can't be normal for SEVEN devices to share ONE IRQ can it?
Please help - but please don't suggest a reinstall... I've tried it too many times
Thanks,
Dave.

I have the same, and so do a lot of people. It's because you have an ACPI computer. You can set it to standard PC in Device Manager, but you will then not be able to shutdown automatically, you'll have to use the good old off switch. if you have huge probs, mebe this is the best sollution for you
